At a heated press meet in Chennai today where reporters posed uncomfortable questions to him, PMK youth wing leader Anbumani Ramadoss, who at times became tensed, justified his party’s alliance with the AIADMK and the BJP.
“This alliance in Tamil Nadu is headed by AIADMK. We had
not had an opportunity to speak with the BJP yet. We will push for the release of seven convicts in the Rajiv assassin case when we meet the BJP soon,” he said.
He said the PMK will force the AIADMK government to scrap the eight lane project between Chennai and Salem. “We have requested TN Govt to implement total prohibition in Tamil Nadu,” he said.
“When we meet BJP we will reiterate with them for the release of 7 convicts in Rajiv Gandhi assassination case and to exempt Tamil Nadu from NEET”, he added.
He added: “We have changed our strategy because the PMK has not been able to win for the past four elections in Tamil Nadu. DMK is criticising the PMK joining AIADMK because of the party not aligning with Opposition party. But the PMK will not criticise Stalin.”
“DMK also approached the PMK for an alliance to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha polls,” he said and added that let the CBI complete its investigations into gutkha scam and I will be the first one to demand his (Vijayabhaskar) resignation.
Anbumani Ramadoss on Sunday noted that the aim of his party was not to rule the State but bring in development.
Addressing at a marriage function in Arcot, he said, “People may ask what is your aim. I want to tell you now, our aim is not to rule the State but bring in development. However, If we come to power, we can achieve the development expeditiously,” he added.
