Amitabh debuts in Kollywood with S J Suryah’s Uyarntha Manithan

For the first time, Bollywood Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has agreed to do a Tamil film titled Uyarntha Manithan. The film will be directed by Tamizhvaanan who made films like Kalvanin Kaadhali and Machakkaran.

The first look poster was unveiled by Superstar Rajinikanth privately. Speaking to the media, Tamizhvaanan said, “When I had written the script, I only had two actors in my mind- Amitabh and SJ Suryah.”

“Suryah was convinced and I am really happy that though it took us a while, Amitabhji is also on board,” he added.

For his part, Suryah said, “I have to thank the producer, Suresh Kannan, for relentlessly trying to meet Amitabhji. Even AR Murugadoss has a huge role in Spyder and also gave me Amitabh ji.”

He further said: “Uyarntha Manithan will be a bilingual in Tamil and Hindi. Tamizhvaanan worked nearly two years to assemble the project.”

Suryah added: “We feel that getting the nod of Amitabh Bachchan itself is a big success. I was waiting for this moment, Amitabh sir will be launched here as an actor in Tamil and I will be making my acting debut in Hindi.”
