Amit Shah in Chennai, what’s the agenda?

Days after he announced the Narendra Modi-led government’s historic decision to scrap Article 370 and to bifurcate Jammu & Kashmir into Union Territories, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a two-day visit to Chennai.

A book chronicling two years in the office of the Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu will be released at the Kalaivanar Arrangam, Chennai on August 11, 2019, by Amit Shah.

The book titled ‘Listending, Learning & Leading’ captures a few glimpses of the Vice President’s 330 public engagements in all the States and Union Territories of our country during the last two years.

The book contains Naidu’s important diplomatic engagements including his visits to 19 countries in 4 continents. He was the first Indian Vice President to visit Panama, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Malta.

Banwarilal Purohit, the Governor of Tamil Nadu, Edappadi K Palaniswami, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, O Panneerselvam, Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and others will be attending the event.

It is also said that Amit Shah, during his visit to Chennai, will also hold discussions with party seniors and alliance leaders on important political issues.

Recently, Arputhammal, the mother of AG Perarivalan alias Arivu, serving life term in Vellore jail after conviction in the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, met Amit Shah pleading with folded hands and tears in eyes for her son’s release.
