BJP national president Amit Shah and union finance minister Arun Jaitley will visit Chennai tomorrow to enquire the health of Tamil Nadu chief minister and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa.
According to sources, the two leaders will visit TN CM at 5 PM in Apollo Hospital at Greams Road in the city.
Puducherry Lt governor Kiran Bedi, Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the state’s governor P Sathasivam and others made a visit to Apollo hospital on Greams Road in Chennai on Monday, where TN chief minister J Jayalalithaa is undergoing treatment.
Vijayan visited the hospital and held discussions with hospital’s chairman Prathap Reddy. Speaking to reporters, Sathasivam said, “We met Dr. Pathap Reddy and other doctors providing treatment to the Chief Minister.”
He added: “And within a short period, she is likely to be discharged and it is possible for her to take charge of administration. We also pray for her speedy recovery.”
Kiran Bedi said: “I met the Apollo Hospitals chairman Prathap Reddy, as I didn’t want to disturb the chief minister who is under the observation of doctors. I was informed that Jayalalithaa is responding well to the treatment and her health has improved.”
Meanwhile, Union Minister M. Venkaiah Nadu told reporters that only the ruling AIADMK party can decide on an acting Chief Minister or Deputy Chief Minister till Jayalalithaa recovers.
