Mahat Raghavendra, who acted alongside Ajith in Mankatha and Maanu, the heroine of Kaadhal Mannan, have heaped laurels on the actor.
Mahat said in an interview with Manobala, “I don’t come from a filmy background. I am thankful to my friends. When I got an opportunity to work with Ajith sir, I was very happy. He said that he, too, entered the industry like me, as a young guy, with no background.”
The Jilla actor added: “He gave me a lot of hope and positivity. He told me that I will come up in the industry. And that sort of gave me the push that I should never give up on the industry or my career.”
He said further: “Simbu and I were childhood friends. I used to accompany him to shoots. I also watched him edit and compose music. I was drawn to it and was inspired by him. Soon I began taking acting and dance classes. Eventually, I began looking for acting opportunities. Simbu then cast me in a friend role in Vallavan. I was again looking for opportunities.”
Talking about Mankatha, he said, “Dayanidhi Alagiri knew the kind of hardwork I put in, and suggested my name to Venkat Prabhu. Initially, Mankatha was a film about four boys.”
“Venkat saw me and cast me as one of the boys. Later, Ajith sir came on board and it became a bigger film. In fact, when I got to know this, I cried to Dhaya and thanked him for roping me in for the film,” he added.
In an interview, Maanu said she was feeling blessed to have had a huge opening in her first movie itself. According to the dancer-actress, she was thankful of having got the opportunity to work Ajith and director Saran in her debut.
