Ajith’s ‘Gladiators’ trailer gets special fan premiere, roaring reception
Fans of actor Ajith Kumar gathered at selected theatres in Chennai on September 6 for a special theatrical screening of the trailer of his upcoming documentary, ‘Gladiators: In Pursuit of Challenges’.
The 3-minute-40-second trailer offers a glimpse into Ajith’s passion for motorsport and his journey in endurance racing, which he describes as one of the most demanding disciplines in the sport.
The documentary also features Shalini Ajith Kumar, who makes her first on-screen appearance in nearly two decades. Speaking about Ajith’s passion for racing, she says that while he is widely recognised as an actor, those close to him know him as someone who pursues his dreams and follows his interests. She adds that his return to racing was not simply about winning trophies, but about experiencing the feeling that anything is possible.
The trailer ends with Ajith expressing his love for motorsport before raising the Indian flag in front of a cheering crowd.
Directed by AL Vijay, ‘Gladiators: In Pursuit of Challenges’ explores Ajith’s life beyond the film industry, particularly his involvement in motorsport and endurance racing. The documentary features visuals from different stages of his racing journey and his participation in international motorsport events.
In a departure from the usual practice of releasing trailers online, the makers opted for a theatrical premiere, allowing fans to experience the first glimpse of the documentary on the big screen.
The documentary is produced by Shalini Ajith Kumar under Golden Trophy Film Production, with music composed by GV Prakash Kumar. AL Vijay had previously collaborated with Ajith on ‘Kireedam’.
