Air India-Vistara merger done; new entity to operate over 5,600 weekly flights

The merger between Air India and Vistara has officially been completed, forming a single unified airline entity. The newly combined company will be one of the largest airlines in India, with a robust flight network and enhanced capacity.

Following the merger, the airline will operate more than 5,600 weekly flights, significantly boosting its reach both domestically and internationally. The integration of Vistara into the Air India group aims to strengthen the airline’s position in the highly competitive aviation market, with an expanded fleet and more comprehensive route options.

This merger is part of the ongoing efforts by the Tata Group to consolidate its airline operations under the Air India brand, which also includes Air India Express and AirAsia India. The move is expected to improve operational efficiencies and deliver enhanced services to passengers, with a broader array of travel options.

The airlines’ combined fleet will now offer a wider range of destinations, and passengers can expect to see improved services across both legacy and new routes. Air India has also highlighted its commitment to maintaining high standards of customer experience, leveraging both the legacy of Air India and Vistara’s modern services.

As part of the merger, the airlines will work on integrating their staff, infrastructure, and technological platforms to ensure a smooth transition and continued operational excellence.
