Chances are very high that the alliance led by AIADMK would continue in coming elections in the state, chief minister and AIADMK joint coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami has said.
Addressing mediapersons in Salem, Palaniswami said, “There was more voters turnout this time as people wanted this government to continue. The present AIADMK alliance is likely to continue in the future as well.”
He further said officials will look into the issue of the damages incurred in several places due to heavy winds which blew in many locations in the State yesterday.
Palaniswami exuded confidence in winning all the Lok Sabha constituencies in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. He said AIADMK candidates for the forthcoming bypolls in four assembly constituencies — Sulur, Aravakuruchi, Tiruparankundram and Ottapidaram — would be announced shortly.
A party press release issued by both Palaniswami and the Deputy Chief Minister and AIADMK coordinator, O Pannerselvam, said that aspirants applying for party tickets for these four constituencies should get the forms from the party headquarters in Chennai on Sunday, April 21, on payment of Rs.25,000 per form. They should fill up the forms and submit it to the party HQ on the same day itself.
When asked about the government’s response to the damages caused by the sudden rains and thunderstorms in different places in the state, Palaniswami said as the state was in election mode, everything was under the control of the Election Commission. “I need to discuss this issue with senior ministers and senior officials,” he added.
