After Ragini Dwivedi’s arrest, shocking details emerge about Sandalwood drug scandal

Ragini Dwivedi’s name has cropped up as a top suspect in the ongoing Sandalwood drug scandal was arrested after nearly seven hours of grilling that happened at the CCB office. This apparently was after there was a lot of drugs that were found at her residence, following reports.

Ragini is the third person to be arrested in connection with the Sandalwood Drug Link and the first Kannada actress to be arrested. Two lawyers also came to her flat in Yalahanka and later to the CCB office. They also approached the court seeking anticipatory bail for Ragini.

However, the court dismissed the anticipatory bail. The CCB sleuths decided to arrest her and seek police custody for further interrogation. Besides, there is no way Ragini can get bail till Monday.

The court granted three days of police custody for Ragini. She was produced before the magistrate via video conference. Later, the actor was taken to a government hospital for a medical check-up as per protocol.

In the search conducted at Ragini Dwivedi’s home, many important matierials were seized. The police will share more details soon.

In a statement, Bengaluru Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Patil said, “Ragini Dwivedi has been arrested and taken into custody.”

Besides, the actor, two people named Rahul and Viren Khanna were arrested, he said. With this, four people have been arrested in the case.

The police had earlier said arrested one K Ravishankar, who has links within the Kannada film industry, in connection with the drugs case and a court has sent him to police custody for five days.

According to police, Viren Khanna is a big catch. “He (Khanna) is the main person who organises big parties where drugs are consumed. He was in Delhi and two CCB police inspectors had gone to Delhi and arrested him,” Mr Patil said.
