After Amit Shah, OPS meets Nirmala Sitharaman in Delhi

Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, who met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Monday, today called on Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

While Panneerselvam is the coordinator of the ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in Tamil Nadu, Shah is the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

BJP working president J P Nadda was also present when OPS called on Amit Shah on Monday. It is said the leaders discussed various important issues concerning Tamil Nadu during their meeting.

Today, Panneerselvam met Nirmala Sitharaman. It is to be noted that Panneerselvam also holds Finance portfolio in the State Cabinet. During the meeting, Panneerselvam reportedly requested the Centre to allocate more funds to the State.

It may be noted that Panneerselvam’s son O P Raveendranath Kumar is the only MP to represent AIADMK in the Lok Sabha. Though it was expected that he would be made union minister, that did not happen.

The AIADMK alliance in which the BJP was part of did not fare well in the Lok Sabha polls held for 38 constituencies recently. Vellore Lok Sabha constituency will face election soon and AIADMK has fielded A C Shanmugam there.
