Vijay was shooting in the United States for his upcoming flick Sarkar, when DMK president and former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi passed away last week.
Hence, the ‘Thalapathi’ was unable to pay his last tributes to the mortal remains of the ‘Kalaignar’. And this morning, when he reached Chennai from the US, the first thing he did was to drive straight to the Marina from the airport.
“After 22-hour long travel, Vijay went straight to Karunanidhi samadhi and offered tributes. He was disturbed and shakened,” sources said.
Meanwhile, sources say the shoot of Vijay’s upcoming film Sarkar, directed by A R Murugadoss and produced by Sun Pictures, is almost over.
Recently, it was said that Vietnamese actor Johnny Tri Nguyen, who made his debut in Kollywood with Suriya starrer 7aam Arivu, would the villain in Sarkar.
Interestingly, both 7aam Arivu and Sarkar are directed by Murugadoss. It was the filmmaker who felt that Johnny would fit the bill well for the negative role, sources said.
“Murugadoss has been impressed by his martial arts and has roped in Johnny for the project,” sources add. It may be recalled that the actor had also appeared in Atharvaa’s Irumbu Kuthirai.
