Aequs Clinches “Best Ecosystem Accelerator” Award at Wings India 2024

Named joint winner with Airbus in the category that recognizes companies excelling in developing and  nurturing Aerospace Manufacturing Ecosystems in the country.

In a proud moment for Aequs, India’s Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), have adjudged it the Best Ecosystem Accelerator at the Wings India 2024, a biennial event positioned as Asia’s largest civil aviation show.

Aravind Melligeri, Chairman & CEO, Aequs, received the award from Hon’ble Union Minister for Civil Aviation Minister & Steel, Shri Jyotiraditya M Scindia, in the presence of General VK Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, and Ministry of Civil Aviation and senior MoCA officials.

What is more humbling and gratifying for Aequs is that it had the honor of being named winner in the category jointly with its long-time customer and the world’s biggest airplane-maker Airbus.

“We are indeed honored to be jointly named for the award with Airbus, which sets the bar for performance and quality,” Aravind Melligeri said holding the recognition a milestone in Aequs’ journey towards manufacturing excellence and developing Ecosystems of Efficiency®.

Thanking customers, partners, suppliers, and all constituents of the Ecosystem at the Belagavi Aerospace Cluster (BAC), he attributed the success to the spirit of partnership and collaboration at BAC, apart from the hard work put in by all Aequals, who have displayed a mindset of continuous improvement and delivering the highest standards of quality and customer service.

Airbus was the first to recognize Aequs for its unique approach to Aerospace manufacturing by conferring the Airbus Innovation Award in 2016, which Aequs cherishes to this day.

Set up in 2009, the BAC, is India’s first Notified Precision Engineering SEZ and a unique Aerospace ecosystem comprising thirty plus manufacturing units today. Spread over 250+ acres, it offers customers a vertically integrated manufacturing value chain within the same campus. Thanks to the presence of these numerous co-located manufacturing units the ecosystem players can work seamlessly.

Aequs is thus able to offer its customers, who include all global Aerospace OEMs including Airbus, Boeing, Collins and Safran to name a few, the benefit of such an environment. At the same time given that most intermediate stage manufacturing processes are conducted at different units within the same campus, the Aerospace components manufactured at BAC have a low carbon footprint.
