Actor Shaam arrested for gambling

Actor Shaam had been arrested by police for indulging in illegal activities in his home. The actor was reportedly involved in gamble in his home, which lead to his arrest.

There was an information received by police officers that actor Shaam who lives in Nungambakkam, has been indulging in gambling in his home itself, based on which cops reached his home and arrested Shaam among 14 others.

Investigators said tokens used for gambling have been recovered from the flat owned by the actor where many, including other popular Tamil actors, have been indulging in the illegal activity late at night amid the lockdown. It’s not clear yet if any other actors too have been arrested.

According to unconfirmed reports, the police was tipped off by a popular actor who had allegedly lost a big sum while gambling here.

“Actor Shaam has been arrested along with 11 others. We are investigating the modus operandi over the use of tokens,” a senior police officer was quoted as saying.

Shamshuddin Ibrahim, known professionally as Shaam, is an Indian actor and model who mainly appears Tamil films along with Kannada and Telugu films. Starting his career as a professional model, he soon made his acting debut in the film 12B (2001).

He further appeared in lead roles in critically successful films such as Lesa Lesa (2003), Iyarkai (2003), and Ullam Ketkumae (2005), which was also successful commercially. He garnered acclaim for his role in Kick (2009), which earned him the name Kick Shaam. Kick enabled Shaam to star in other successful films such as Race Gurram (2014). After a hiatus, he returned to Tamil cinema with 6 (2013) and Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai (2015), both of which released to positive reviews.
