With Nivin Pauly starrer Richie generating mixed reviews, Roopesh Peethambaran, who shot into fame first playing the young Mohanlal in Sphadikam, and later directed Theevram and You Too Brutus, posted a controversial tweet.
“It’s pretty hard to imagine how a masterpiece turned into a piece!! Bravo for Ulidavaru Kandante,” he posted. It is to be noted that Richie is a remake of Kannada hit Ulidavaru Kandante.
Following this, Nivin Pauly fans started an online attack on Roopesh, prompting the actor to post: “Nivin Pauly, tell your fans that I was praising Ulidavaru Kandante not bitching Richie.”
After sometime, he tendered an apology. “I realize that impulsive reaction was a mistake which hurt a lot of people. That was never my intention. I apologise for the pain I may have caused due to this. I am sorry.”
