Aadai shows cancelled in last minute

Shows of Amala Paul’s most awaited Aadai has been cancelled just hours before its release. Theatres have cancelled the shows on Friday due to non-receipt of the KDM.

According to reports, theyd are either refunding tickets or offering an alternative to those who’ve booked their tickets. Aadai seems to be embroiled in a financial tussle, a common reason for last minute cancellations in Tamil cinema.

The first shows at 10 a.m in the morning have been cancelled both within Tamil Nadu and in overseas locations due to financial issues over issuing KDM key. It is still unclear when the issue would be cleared and the film would be screened.

The PR team for the project cites ‘financial issues’ as the reason, and it is still unclear if the film will be released on Friday as per scheduled. Fans waiting to watch the movie have to be patient and wait for more news as of now.

Amala Paul said she was on the verge of quitting the film industry before Aadai came her way. Speaking to The Hindu about the controversial nude scene, she said that the director had told her she could wear a special costume while filming the scene.

“I asked him (director Rathna Kumar ) to not worry about it. It is only when I reached that point, I was feeling stressed. I was anxious to know about what is happening on the sets, who were all going to be there, and if there was security. There were only 15 people on the sets. I wouldn’t have done the scene if I didn’t trust the crew,” she said.

A heroine-centric horror thriller, Aadai is directed by Meyaadha Maan fame Rathna Kumar.
