A R Rahman talks about remixes, troll and more

A R Rahman has said that he doesn’t like his songs getting remixed. The Oscar-Grammy winner said in a recent interiew that he is happy with only one remix of his song- ‘The Humma Song’ (OK Jaanu aka OK Kanmani).

The song was a remake of Humma Humma from the film Bombay (1995).  Rahman said the remix went with the movie and helped it.  Interestingly, both movies are helmed by Mani Ratnam.

Rahman said after that he didn’t like any of the remixes, some of which he described as “really disastrous and very annoying”. He added that he told the company that he’ll be trolled if he supported such remixes.

According to Rahman, he is happy that people are realising the value of original music and how it takes a lot of hard work and love to find a song for the movie.

Asked about not working for Hindi  projects recently, he said that he has  been busy with other things – like his films,’ 99 Songs’ and ‘Dil Bechara‘, which are yet to release.

Rahman also said that he was also busy composing for Tamil films as well as his productions, building a studio, spending time with his kids and nurturing them into musicians.

Recently, Rahman posted on his social media page, “Extremely Happy to be Collaborating with #SonyMusic for 99 songs Global Music Release. #JioStudios #99songs”.

When one Twitter user asked it the single was releasing in 2050, and Rahman replied in a cool manner, ‘Today’, which won the heart of the user.
