Six men surrendered before a court in Chengalpet near Chennai, in connection with the murder of advocate Akhil alias Akhil Nath at Puzhal in the city.
The men were identified as Vijay alias Vijaykumar, Balaji, Velu alias Kamaraj, Dinesh, Kumar and Vicky alias Vigneshkumar.
Akhilan alias Akhiknath, an advocate practising in the Judicial Magistrate Court in Ponneri and a resident of Sankaralinganar Street in Kavangarai in Puzhal, was hacked to death by six men on bikes.

Police said Akhilan is allegedly involved in the murder of one P Shivaraj in January. Gangsters including ‘Naai’ Suresh were used to bump off Shivaraj. It was suspected that, Shivaraj’s cousin Chandru had hired the men to kill Akhilan, for revenge.
Akhilan was talking to his friend when a six-member gang in three motorcycles surrounded and attacked him with deadly weapons. The victim was killed on the spot.
Immediately, residents of the locality informed the Puzhal Police who rushed to the spot and sent the body to Government Stanley Hospital for post-mortem examination.
