390 grams of Gold and Electronic goods totally worth Rs22.31 Lakhs seized by Chennai Air Customs .Passenger Arrested.
Based on intelligence ,one male passenger aged 53 years who arrived from Sharjah by Air Arabia flight G9-473 on 17.09.2021 at 2100 hrs was intercepted at exit by the AIU officers.
On personal search and examination of the passenger one Gold chain weighing 80 gms concealed in his pant pocket ,one Gold bundle concealed in rectum weighing 310 gms valued at Rs 16,30,590/- was recovered .Further electronic goods worth Rs 6,00,200/- not declared by the passenger carried in his Check -in baggage was also recoverd.The total value of the contraband goods is Rs .22.31 Lakhs/-(IMV) and the same were seized under the Customs Act ,1962.Passenger was arrested.
