2,996 Karate Practitioners Set a Guinness World Record with Spectacular Feats!
A total of 2,996 karate practitioners from across India came together at one location to perform synchronized karate feats, setting a new Guinness World Record.
Organized by the World Karate Masters Association, this historic event took place on February 8 at the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University in Chennai. Over 5,000 karate students participated, with 2,996 of them performing continuous karate techniques, including punches, kicks, and blocks, for 30 minutes in front of official Guinness World Record adjudicators.
This marked the first time in the history of world karate that such a record-breaking event was conducted under the supervision of Guinness World Record officials. Participants from all over India, including both men and women, showcased their skills in a synchronized display of karate techniques, leaving the audience in awe.
The Guinness World Record adjudicators officially recognized this achievement and issued a certificate. The record was also uploaded to the official Guinness World Record website on February 21.
Speaking to reporters in Chennai, Balmurugan, the president of the World Karate Masters Association, said:
“Our goal is to provide free self-defense training to millions of people across India. As part of this initiative, we have been working towards this since 2013. This Guinness World Record event is a step in that direction. We planned this event starting from May last year and successfully executed it now. During the event, some individuals threatened us and tried to discourage us from proceeding. However, we overcame all obstacles and achieved this feat without giving up.”
He added, “Over the next five years, we aim to provide free self-defense training to 80 million people. We do not seek money or positions from the government; we only request their cooperation to make this vision a reality.”
The event was attended by Bharat, the official witness from Guinness World Records, and Ravinranka, the secretary of the World Karate Masters Association, among others.

உலக கராத்தே மாஸ்டர்கள் சங்கம் சார்பில் கின்னஸ் உலக சாதனை புத்தகத்தில் இடம் பிடிக்கும் வகையில், ஒரே இடத்தில் 2 ஆயிரத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட கராத்தே வீரர்கள் ஒருங்கிணைந்து, கராத்தே நுட்பங்களை தொடர்ந்து 30 நிமிடங்கள் நடுவர்கள் முன்பு செய்து காட்டும் நிகழ்வு சென்னையில் உள்ள தமிழ்நாடு உடற்கல்வி மற்றும் விளையாட்டு பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் கடந்த பிப்.8-ம் தேதி நடைபெற்றது. இதில் 5 ஆயிரத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட கராத்தே பயிலுநர்கள் பங்கேற்றனர்.
உலக கராத்தே வரலாற்றி முதல்முறையாக, கின்னஸ் உலக சாதனை புத்தகத்தின் நடுவர் முன்னிலையில் இந்த உலக சாதனை நிகழ்ச்சி நடைபெற்றது. இந்தியா முழுவதும் இருந்து 5 ஆயிரத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட வீரர், வீராங்கனைகள் நிகழ்வில் பங்கேற்ற நிலையில் அதில் 2,996 பேர் தொடர்ந்து 30 நிமிடங்களுக்கு ஒருங்கிணைந்து பஞ்ச், கிக்ஸ், பிளாக் போன்ற கராத்தே நுட்பங்களின் சாகசங்களை சிறப்பாக செய்து காட்டி அசத்தினர்.
இந்த சாதனையை அங்கீகரித்து சான்றிதழ் வழங்கிய கின்னஸ் உலக சாதனை புத்தகத்தின் நடுவர்கள், தொடர்ந்து கடந்த பிப்.21-ம் தேதி கின்னஸ் புத்தகத்தின் அதிகாரப்பூர்வ இணையதளத்திலும் அதை பதிவேற்றம் செய்தனர். இது தொடர்பாக உலக கராத்தே மாஸ்டர்கள் சங்கத்தின் தலைவர் பாலமுருகன் சென்னையில் செய்தியாளர்களிடம் கூறியதாவது:
இந்தியாவில் உள்ள கோடிக்கணக்கான மக்களுக்கு தற்காப்பு கலையை இலவசமாக கொண்டு சேர்க்க வேண்டும் என்பதே எங்களது விருப்பம். இதையொட்டி கடந்த 2013-ம் ஆண்டில் இருந்து முயற்சி செய்து வருகிறோம். அதன் ஒரு பகுதியாக இந்த கின்னஸ் சாதனை நிகழ்வை ஏற்பாடு செய்தோம். இந்நிகழ்வை கடந்த ஆண்டு மே மாதத்தில் இருந்து நடத்த திட்டமிட்டு, தற்போது செய்து காட்டியிருக்கிறோம். நிகழ்ச்சி நடந்தபோது சிலர் எங்களை தொடர்பு கொண்டு இதை செய்யக்கூடாது எனவும் மிரட்டல் விட்டனர்.
ஆனால், அதையும் மீறி யாருக்கும் சளைக்காமல் செய்து முடித்திருக்கிறோம். அடுத்த 5 ஆண்டுகளில் 8 கோடி மக்களுக்கு இலவசமாக தற்காப்பு கலையை கற்றுக் கொடுக்க நாங்கள் தயாராக இருக்கிறோம். இதற்காக அரசிடம் இருந்து பணமோ, பதவியோ நாங்கள் எதிர்பார்க்கவில்லை. அரசின் ஒத்துழைப்பு மட்டும் இருந்தால் போதும்.
