S S Rajamouli, the maker of Baahubali series, Naan Ee, Maaveeran and other movies, hails from a cinema background as his father Vijayendra Prasad is a veteran scriptwriter and ace music composer Maragadhamani (MM Keeravani) is his close relative.
And now, sons of Rajamouli and Maragadhamani have ventured into cinema field. While the former’s son SS Karthikeya will produce a movie titled Aakashavani, the latter’s son Kaala Bhairava will score music for it.
Rajamouli tweeted the happy news: “Who’ll be the happiest person than me at this moment…. Very happy that my boys @ssk1122 & @KaalaBhairava7 debuting as a producer and a music director with the #Aakashavaani.”
The director of Yamadonga, Sye and Maryadha Ramanna added: “Directed by my former assistant @AshwinGangaraju. Good luck to the entire team 🙂 @SBbySSK.”
Rajamouli is a director and screenwriter, known for his works primarily in Telugu cinema. He is known for directing high-budget feature films like Magadheera (2009), Eega (2012), the two part Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), premiered at the British Film Institute, while becoming the highest grossing Indian multilingual film franchise of all time globally, with a cumulative box office earnings of approximately Rs 1,900 crore (US$260 million).
The first part of the Telugu film has received the National Film Award for Best Feature Film, and got nominated for Saturn Award for Best Fantasy Film by the American Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films.
His other works include the sports drama film Sye and the social problem film Vikramarkudu, which was screened at the International Film Festival of India in the mainstream section. The melodrama films Maryada Ramanna, Vikramarkudu and Chhatrapati were remade in various Indian languages, with successful reviews.
