14th GRADUATION DAY & SHREYAS’23

Shri Shankarlal Sundarbai Shasun Jain College for Women, T.Nagar, Chennai organised its 14th Graduation at the college premises. The event was planned in two sessions. Tmt. P.C. Thenmozhi IPS, Inspector General of Police, SID, CBCID, Government of Tamil Nadu, Chennai was the Guest of honour for the first session and Tmt. Mythili K Rajendran IAS, Secretary to Government, Human Resources Management Department, Chennai joined as the Guest of honour for the second session. The Graduation ceremony was declared open by Smt. Usha Abhaya Srisrimal, Secretary. Our Principal Dr. Padmavathi. S welcomed the gathering, introduced the Chief guest and presented the Graduation Day Report. Tmt. P.C. Thenmozhi spoke about Education being a tool that aids in gaining an understanding of the self and the society. She added that the purpose of education would be attained only when it benefits not only the individual but also the people around. Tmt. Mythili K Rajendran congratulated all the graduands for the successful completion of their courses.
The 14th Graduation Day conferred degrees to 1281 graduands of class 2018 – 2021. 33 students had secured top 10 University ranks with an overall pass percentage of 97. Ms. Malavika. K of BBA, Ms. Sailaxmy. R of M.A Journalism & Communication and Ms. Pooja. K of BSc. Visual Communication were rewarded with Gold coins for securing the First rank and the other 30 rank holders were rewarded with Silver coins. The event came to a closure with a Pledge and the rendering of the National Anthem.
Shri Shankarlal Sundarbai Shasun Jain College for Women, T.Nagar, Chennai organised its Intercollegiate and Interdepartmental Cultural Fest, Shreyas 2k22-23 at the College premises. Shreyas 2k22-23 was themed ILUZE – A palace of wishful thinking. The Inaugural Chief Guest for the Intercollegiate fest was Mr. Bobby Simha, Actor. He hoisted the Shreyas flag and declared the fest open. Smt. Usha Abhaya Srisrimal, Secretary, Dr. S. Padmavathi, Principal, & Dr. S. Rukmani, Vice Principal felicitated the Chief Guest. Mr. Vignesh Antony, Mimicry Artist, Mr. Amuthavanan, Comedian, Mr. Vishal, VJ & Actor, and Mr. Rahul Varma, Instagram Influencer were the walk-in guests for the fest and Mr. Santhosh Kumar (Sandy master), Choreographer joined as the Valedictory Chief Guest. Immerse Yourself, Impromptu, Trashion Walk and Miss. Shreyas were the on-stage events conducted and prizes were distributed for all the 17 competitions. 25 Colleges in and around Chennai participated in the fest with more than 500 student participants. Ms. Sajitha of M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women won the title Miss. Shreyas and M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women won the Overall Trophy.
Mr. Kishen Das, Actor was the Inaugural Chief Guest for the Interdepartmental Cultural Fest and Mr. Kathirravan graced the occasion as the Valedictory Chief Guest. Mr. Srikanth Deva, Music Composer, Mr. Saravana Vickram, Actor, Mr. K. J. Iyenar, Singer, Mr. Sanjay Mohan, Actor, Mr. Thajmola, Digital Creator were the walk-in celebrities for the second day of Shreyas. A musical performance was given by the band Sruthilaya. More than 500 Shasuneons participated enthusiastically in all the 17 competitions that were conducted. The Department of B.Com Honours won the Overall trophy. The event was successfully completed with a formal Vote of Thanks by Dr. S. Rukmani, Vice Principal followed by the National Anthem.
